Visit Paris with Parisians

A novel way of exploring the French capital

The Association “Parisian for a day, Parisian forever/ Paris Greeter” is made up of Parisian residents who volunteer to help tourists discover their neighborhoods. A different approach to promoting local tourism in partnership with the City of Paris.

The Association “Parisian for a day, Parisian forever/ Paris Greeter” offers tourists from around the world a chance to share the life of a Parisian for a few hours and go off the beaten track of the city's major sights and monuments.

Bilingual local volunteers take visitors to see unusual, often hidden spots in Paris. They recount the history of the places —, both important events and anecdotes —, and communicate their love for their city along with good tips and addresses.

The aim is to give tourists an insider's view of Parisian life. The guides are enthusiastic, friendly Parisians who know their quartiers inside-out and are eager to share their time and knowledge, like a friend you've come to visit.

Tours in ten languages

Visits often end in lively discussions at an outdoor café. The walking tours are open to individuals or groups of no more than 6. Association members come from varied backgrounds and offer tours in ten languages.

“Parisian for a day, Parisian forever/ Paris Greeter” is a not-for-profit association.

All visits are free of charge.
